About Me

I started my journey as a teenager working in nurseries and schools helping young people learn and progress. This love took me into SEND specific education for all ages 2-50+ with a large focus on Autism and associated conditions. Working in groups and on a 1:1 basis, I focused on helping to improve their lives through autonomy, confidence and independence, later working in Private Households with those with disabilities to help them live as full and enriching life as possible. As I progressed, I found myself drawn to safeguarding roles and gained significant experience as a CSE Practitioner where I coached young people with significant trauma helping them to express themselves, remove limiting fears and  grow confident and capable to face future challenges in a positive way.

I didn't have anyone looking out for me growing up, someone to talk to when my mum died who could help me juggle my new responsibilities and my education. I needed someone to talk to at Uni when I didn't know who to ask for help and direction and I could've done with a mentor who understood and could help me navigate life with an invisible, degenerative condition. These are some of the biggest reasons I became a Youth Coach.

With over 15 years experience guiding and coaching children and young people, I understand the challenges young people face and specialise in offering impartial, trauma informed, judgement free support. I encourage positive self-development and growth whilst offering a safe outlet for young people to share and explore their worries and move positively through challenges.

What I offer is not counselling. Not everyone is ready or able to go to traditional therapy or counselling and Talking therapy isn't suited for everyone. I firmly believe that there should be an alternative out there and that is why I do what I do.

I have lived a vivid and complex life which has led to opportunities for growth and healing, but I shouldn't have had to do it on my own. It is so important to have someone to talk to when we're stressed or worried, anxious or can't find a way to express ourselves. Someone who helps us understand how we're feeling without having to relive everything, but also someone who can instill confidence and push us to reach our goals.

My job is not to ask you about your life story, only to facilitate conversations on subjects chosen by you that might help you move forward in life. I share a little of mine here so that whoever is reading this can see you're not alone in whatever you're going through.

Growth is a journey and one that I can help to facilitate for you or your child.
